HMPD Detectives arrest man for vehicle break-in.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at approximately 3pm, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the parking lot of the YMCA on Ellison Street in reference to a vehicle break-in. Officers were unable to locate a suspect in the area and the case was forwarded to the Detective Division for further investigation. During the course of their investigation, Detectives identified Brandon Rashawn Maddox, 30, of the 6100 block of Locharron Drive, Fayetteville, as the suspect responsible for the vehicle break-in. On Friday, June 19, 2015, Mr. Maddox was charged by Hope Mills Police Detectives and jailed at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $30,000.00 bond for the following charges:

1 count of Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle
1 count of Felony Larceny of a Financial Card
1 count of Felony Credit Card Fraud
1 count of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense
1 count of Misdemeanor Larceny
1 count of Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods

This investigation is ongoing and more charges are likely.
