Driver Loses Control of Vehicle and Collides into Home, Causing House Fire - Two People Injured

Riverbank, CA – An elderly woman lost control of her Lexus SUV earlier this evening at the 6400 block of Kenneth Charles Court in Riverbank. Her vehicle collided into two cars, a tree and went through the garage and kitchen of a home in the cul de sac. When the vehicle finally came to a stop in the home, it caught fire. Six apparatus and 18 firefighters spent about 30 minutes putting the fire out, which had spread from the vehicle to the residence.

Both the driver and a resident of the home, who was injured by the debris, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Chief Randy Bradley was at the scene and said, “Fortunately, this incident did not result in more serious injuries and our crews were able to contain the fire quickly, preventing damage to neighboring homes.”
