HMPD Officers arrest man for Home Invasion.
On Friday, June 12, 2015 at approximately 11:45pm, Hope Mills Police Officers responded to the 3300 block of State Street in reference to a Home Invasion in progress. Upon arrival, the victims told Officers that the suspect, Chris Junior Hammonds, 36, also of the 3300 block of State Street, had come to their residence, broken out a window on a door and pointed a gun at them through the broken window. According to the victims, the suspect then entered the residence brandishing a pistol and a rifle and demanded money from the victims. After staying in the residence for several more minutes, the suspect left the victim’s house and fled the area. Hope Mills Police Officers and Detectives located Mr. Hammonds at his residence early Saturday morning and took him into custody. Mr. Hammonds was then transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he was jailed under a $100,000.00 bond for the following offenses:
