Fatal Traffic Collision, Coral Canyon Road and PCH, Malibu, #LASD Los Hills Stn
On June 13, 2015 at 6:22 a.m., Malibu/Lost Hills deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a report of a traffic collision on Pacific Coast Highway and Corral Canyon Road, Malibu. When deputies arrived they saw one vehicle, full-size GMC pick-up truck, turned over.
A preliminary investigation showed the pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway and hit a parked Honda Civic. The Honda Civic had a male adult sitting in the driver’s seat and a female adult sitting in the passenger’s seat. The male adult was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The female passenger sustained unknown type of injuries and was transported to a hospital via ambulance.
After the pick-up truck hit the parked Honda Civic, the pick-up truck flipped over and slid into another parked vehicle, a GMC Sierra pick-up truck. The parked GMC Sierra pick-up truck had a male adult in the driver’s seat and a female minor in the passenger’s seat. The male adult and female minor did not sustain any injuries.
The driver of the full-size GMC pick-up truck sustained minor injuries.
At this time, eastbound lanes on Pacific Coast Highway and Corral Canyon Road are closed for an extended amount of time. It is unknown when the lanes will be reopened.
