Police Blotter May 22nd - May 25th

May 22nd

Psychiatric evaluation – 1000 block of Navellier St.
At 1256 hours, an officer committed a 13-year-old female from Richmond after she threatened suicide and spoke of cutting her wrists. The female was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

Stolen vehicle – Central Ave. / San Mateo Ave.
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1998 Ford Mustang sometime between 2300 hours on the 21st and 0600 hours on the 22nd.

Residential burglary – 1200 block of Navellier St.
An unknown suspect entered the victim’s house via an open rear window sometime between 1100 and 1600 hours and stole electronics and jewelry.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery - Madison Ave / S. 56th St.:
At 1905 hours, an officer located a 1998 Honda Civic which was reported as stolen to the SFPD on 04/22/2015.

Driving while under the influence of an Alcoholic Beverage / Traffic Collision - Central Ave./ San Pablo Ave.:
At 2120 hours, officers responded to the report of a traffic collision. A 28 year old Oakland woman was determined to be driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Her vehicle had collided with a parked vehicle. She was booked and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave./Moeser Lane:
At 2229 hours, an officer contacted a 55 year old Pinole woman during a pedestrian stop. She was found to have a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. She was released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest - 3160 Carlson Blvd:
At 2328 hours, an officer spotted a subject wanted on a felony warrant riding as a passenger in a vehicle. The subject, a 52 year old Richmond sex registrant was stopped and arrested on the warrant. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Driving while under the influence of an Alcoholic Beverage / Traffic - 6500 block of Barrett Avenue:
At 2336 hours, officers responded to the report of a vehicle colliding with a parked vehicle. The driver, a 26 year old Oakland man was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

May 23rd

Stolen vehicle and recovery – Yosemite Ave. / Lassen St.
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2002 Honda Civic sometime between 2330 hours on the 22nd and 0300 hours on the 23rd. When the victim called police in the morning, she was informed that her vehicle had been involved in a hit and run collision on 35th St. in Richmond. The victim called the police to recover her vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the 600 block of 35th St. It had collided with a parked vehicle in the early morning hours and the suspect fled the scene. The victim’s vehicle was recovered and towed from the scene.

Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia – 1751 Eastshore Blvd.
At 1626 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian enforcement stop and arrested a 52-year-old Oakland man for possession of crack cocaine and a glass smoking pipe. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released pending lab results.

Public intoxication, Violation of probation – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1644 hours, officers were dispatched to Safeway for a person banned from the store. Officers contacted a 27-year-old San Pablo man that is on probation with a stay away order from Safeway. The man was also extremely intoxicated. The man was arrested and booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Identity Theft - 2200 block of Pinehurst Ct.
At 1835 hours, an officer responded to the report of an identity theft. An unidentified suspect opened fraudulent lines of credit in the victim’s name.

Shoplifting - 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1955 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody. Store Security placed a 55 year old transient male under citizen’s arrest for stealing food items from the store. He was booked and released on a citation.

Controlled Substance Possession / Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Avenue / Moeser Lane:
At 2147 hours, an Officer conducted a bicycle enforcement stop on two subjects. One of the subjects , a 20 year old Richmond resident was wanted on a El Cerrito arrest warrant. She was also in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The second subject, a 29 year old Richmond man was on probation and found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The male was booked and released on a citation and the woman was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility on Martinez as the arrest warrants did not authorize a citation release.

Shoplifting - 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2309 hours, officers responded to Safeway on the report of a shoplifting in progress. A 21 year old Richmond man and an 18 year old Richmond woman were detained and found to have stolen various food products. The male was also in possession of a police baton. Both were arrested, booked and released on a citation.

May 24th

Spousal battery, Preventing a victim from calling police – 2400 block of Edwards Ave.
At 2130 hours on the 23rd, the victim and her live in boyfriend / father of her child began to argue. During the argument, the 20-year-old El Cerrito man chocked the victim twice and elbowed her in the lip. He then took their child and walked to an awaiting vehicle. The victim chased him outside and told the man she was going to call police. The man grabbed her cell phone and threw it into the backyard. The man then left the scene. The victim called the man and he stated that he would bring their child home the next morning at 0800 hours. When that time passed, the victim called police. Officers were able to convince the man to return to the house with the child. Once at the house, the man was arrested and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department. The child was returned to the mother. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.


Commercial burglary – 9900 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 0104 hours, an unknown suspect used a pry bar to break the front glass door to gain access to a business. Once inside, the suspect rummaged through the cabinets but did not take anything.


Battery / Vandalism - 1400 block of Richmond St: At 0227 hours, officers responded to the report of an intoxicated 36 year old woman throwing items around the residence. The woman reportedly battered a resident, injuring the man. He was treated at the scene by paramedics. The victim refused to place her under citizen’s arrest. Later the woman kicked in the locked bedroom door of the victim causing damage. She was placed under citizen’s arrest, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Spousal battery – 1400 block of Richmond St.
A 36 year old woman came to the police department reporting an incident that occurred on the 19th. The victim and her husband, a 37-year-old El Cerrito man got into a verbal argument. During the argument, a man allegedly pushed his wife forward and she tripped over a laundry basket, striking her face on a window sill. The man reported that he was attacked by his wife. This case will be referred to the District Attorney’s office for prosecution.

May 25th

Public intoxication, Violation of probation – 11382 San Pablo Ave.
Officers were dispatched to the area for a group of males and females that were causing a disturbance in front of Atlas Liquors. Officers contacted the group and found that a 60-year-old El Cerrito woman was extremely intoxicated. She is also on probation with a stay away order from Denny’s. The woman was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Hit and run – Richmond St. / Waldo Ave.
At 1253 hours, officers were dispatched to an auto collision with injuries at the intersection. Officers arrived to find a gold vehicle in the front yard of a house in the area. Witnesses at the scene stated that the other involved party fled the scene in a silver vehicle. The vehicle was later located by ECPD officers in unincorporated East Richmond Heights and a statement was obtained from the registered owner.

Residential Burglary – 1100 block of Richmond Street: At 1823 hours, Officers responded to the report of a residential burglary. It was determined over the last three days that an unidentified suspect entered via a rear door. Once inside the suspect ransacked the residence and stole a 2008 Honda Civic from the garage.

Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Avenue / Eastshore Blvd: At 1948 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on a jaywalker. The jaywalker, a 21 year old Richmond resident was arrested on a no cite misdemeanor arrest warrant. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Disorderly conduct: Potrero Avenue / Eastshore Blvd: At 2348 hours, officers responded to the report of a group of subjects throwing bottles in the roadway. Officers located two subjects, a 56 year old Richmond man and a 26 year old nearby. Both were determined to be intoxicated. They were transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.
