Officer Involved Shooting in Daly City Update:

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at approximately 9 p.m. there was an officer involved shooting in the area of Crocker Avenue and Brunswick Street in Daly City. The shooting followed a traffic enforcement stop that was conducted by officers participating in the San Mateo County Gang Task Force. During the traffic stop, one officer contacted the driver of the vehicle who then proceeded to drive away, dragging the officer a short distance. A second officer, acting as a cover unit, discharged his firearm into the vehicle, but the suspect vehicle was able to flee the area. The officer who was dragged a short distance sustained minor injuries, and it is unknown if any occupants in the vehicle were struck by gunfire. The vehicle is described as a white Chrysler 300 and was last seen fleeing north on Brunswick Street.

This update is to clarify the officers involved in the shooting are from other agencies within San Mateo County. Daly City Police Officers were NOT involved in this incident. Daly City Police Department investigators were called in to investigate, due to the incident occurring in Daly City’s jurisdiction.
