CICLAVIA-PASADENA ROAD CLOSURES, EVENT DETAILS MAY 31, 2015

PASADENA, Calif.—The following parking, road closures and other event information for CicLAvia-Pasadena are planned for Sunday, May 31, 2015. Presented by Metro, CicLAvia-Pasadena is a fun, car-free event on key city streets in Downtown Pasadena to enjoy by walking, jogging, bicycling, skating and other non-vehicle means from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CicLAvia is free and connects people with local neighborhoods, businesses, arts and culture not possible by car.

During the free event, attendees are encouraged to support Pasadena’s local shops, restaurants and other businesses. Health and public safety officials also wish to remind the public to dress appropriately for the event, to use helmets, pads and other safety gear as appropriate, wear hats for shade, use sunscreen and stay hydrated.

On event day only, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 31, call (626) 744-7889 with questions about street closures, parking, and general event information. Gold Line & Bike Travel Options
Participants are encouraged to walk, ride their bikes or use public transportation to the event. Metro’s Gold Line stations at Memorial Park, Del Mar, and Lake Avenue are all located adjacent to the route.

“No Parking” & Vehicle Towing Along Route
The CicLAvia-Pasadena route and adjacent streets will be posted with temporary “No Parking” signs. All motorists are cautioned to observe all regular and temporary parking restrictions. Vehicles parked on the route during restricted times will be towed to the Elks Lodge parking lot, 400 W. Colorado Blvd., and will be available for pick-up for free only until 4 p.m. the day of the event. Call (626) 744-4400 on Event Day only for towing information. After 4 p.m., any unclaimed towed vehicle will be moved to a local tow yard and storage charges will apply.

Road Closures
The main routes are Colorado Boulevard, from Pasadena Avenue to Bonnie Avenue; Raymond Avenue from Walnut Street to Del Mar Boulevard, and Lake Avenue from Colorado Boulevard to California Boulevard. Some city streets along the route will close to vehicular traffic as early as 6 a.m. and will reopen as soon as possible following the clean-up of the event by about 6 p.m.

North/South travel will remain open at the following intersections along Colorado Boulevard:
• Fair Oaks Avenue and Colorado Boulevard
• Los Robles Avenue and Colorado Boulevard
• Hill Avenue and Colorado Boulevard

East/West travel will remain open at the following intersections along Raymond & Lake Avenue:
• Union Street and Raymond Avenue
• Green Street and Raymond Avenue
• Green Street and Lake Avenue
• Del Mar Boulevard and Lake Avenue

Event Day Detours
Maps with detailed detour routes are online. Primary detour routes include Walnut Street to the North, Allen Avenue to the East, California to the South, and St. John or Fair Oaks to the West.

The following public garages and lots will remain open for local business access on May 31:
• Old Pasadena—Courtyard Marriott access via Walnut; Delacey Parking Structure access via Green; Schoolhouse Structure access via Green & Raymond; One Colorado access via Union
• Paseo Colorado—access via Green Street
• Playhouse District—all structures/lots, access via Green & Union
• South Lake Avenue—Shopper’s Lane access via San Pasqual, Del Mar, & Cordova; Macy’s & Trader Joe’s Parking Structures via Del Mar & Hudson
