Motorcyclist dies in Chula Vista after losing control
On 5/21/15, at approximately 6:49 PM, the Chula Vista Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a traffic accident involving a motorcyclist that had been involved in a collision on “L” Street (200 Block) Officers arrived on scene and discovered that the motorcycle was driven by a male adult.
Witnesses at the scene stated the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on “L” Street at a high rate of speed. The motorcyclist lost control east of Third Avenue, struck the curb before coming to rest against a metal post.
The motorcyclist was unresponsive at the scene and succumbed to his injuries.
At the time of the on-scene investigation, it appears speed is a factor in the collision. The motorcyclist did not appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The Chula Vista Police Traffic Division will be conducting the investigation.
