Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Unveils New Mobile Command Post Vehicle

What: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the City of Santa Clarita, is unveiling the new mobile command post for Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The mobile command post is a 2015 Utilimaster walk-in van on a Freightliner MT-55 chassis, 34 feet in length, seats 6 at the conference table, and has 3 command work stations. The vendor which fabricated the mobile command post was LDV.
The mobile command post allows for rapid deployment of a command center to the scene of an incident, giving the incident commander an enhanced work space equipped with voice and digital communication, indoor office with tables and chairs, whiteboard, outdoor awning, and wide screen televisions. The mobile command post can be deployed at critical incidents such as active shooter, barricaded suspect, hostage situations, man-made and natural disasters, etc. The mobile command post can also be used at large public festivals, or saturation patrol operations. The mobility of the command post allows the incident commander to establish unified command with allied agencies, such as the fire department, CHP, public utilities, and other law enforcement agencies.
