May 15th

Allied agency assistance – 6400 Cutting Blvd.
Officers assisted BART PD with a felony car stop of an occupied stolen vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody without incident by BART PD.

Grand theft – El Cerrito Plaza
The victim was asked for a ride to BART from a stranger. When they arrived at BART, another man walked up, pretended to be from Africa, and expressed the desire to donate to a charity. However, the man explained that he did not have a bank account and could not write a check. The victim was promised $15,000 for helping the man. The victim fell prey to this scam and lost his money along with some jewelry. Anyone can fall victim to this type of scam or scams similar. Always be wary of subjects asking for help with finances who approach you in a parking lot, near an ATM, or near a bank.

Methamphetamine Possession, Probation Violation and Warrant arrest: San Pablo Avenue / San Diego St:
At 2216 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, a 39 year old El Cerrito woman had two warrants for her arrest and was driving on a suspended license. The passenger, a 39 year old Albany man, tossed methamphetamine on the ground during the stop. This subject was also on felony probation and was found to be in violation of his conditional release. Both were booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Methamphetamine Possession with the intent to sell - San Pablo Avenue/Panama Avenue:
At 2346 hours, an officer conducted a bicycle stop. The rider, a 48 year old El Cerrito man was found to be in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Driving under the influence – San Pablo Ave./Carlson Blvd.
At 0204 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 25-year-old Napa woman for driving under the influence of alcohol. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released to a sober friend.

May 16th

Recovered stolen vehicle – Liberty St. / Hill St.
At 0700 hours, an officer located a 1994 Honda Accord, which had been reported stolen to San Francisco PD on the 15th.

Driving Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage - San Pablo Ave./Carlson Blvd. At 0204 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 24 year old Napa woman for DUI and driving on an expired license during a traffic stop. She was booked and released on a citation.

Runaway Juvenile – 100 block of Behrens Ave.
At 0221 hours, an officer responded to the report of a missing juvenile. A 14-year-old girl failed to return home at 2230 hours. The friend she was with also did not return home. The girl’s mother tracked down her daughter to a residence in Richmond. The girl’s mother with police responded to the address and located the girl. She was removed from the missing persons’ system and returned to her mother.

May 17th

Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave/Hill Street:
At 1910 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, 34 year old male, for being in possession of a controlled substance. The male was booked and cited.

Driving under the Influence – Central Ave/Yosemite Ave:
At 2046 hours, an officer reports the arrest of a 25 year old male. The male was found to be driving under the influence during a collision investigation. The male was booked and cited to a sober friend.

Shoplifting – 10500 block of San Pablo Ave
At 2124 hours, officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the listed location. Officers arrived on scene and located 39 year old female, banging on the front door of the business. The female was placed under citizen’s arrest after it was discovered she had entered the business and left without paying for several items.
