Narrative:
On 5/14/2015, Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Narcotic Unit concluded an investigation of an Oxnard resident, Luis Arroyo, who was selling narcotics to residents in Ventura County.
Detectives conducted surveillance at Arroyo’s residence located on the 1100 block of “A” Street in Oxnard. Arroyo was seen leaving his residence on foot and was followed to the area of Glenwood Drive and Oxnard Boulevard. A Sheriff’s patrol unit was called in to stop and detain Arroyo, but Arroyo fled from the deputies. Arroyo discarded a small baggie that contained several grams of methamphetamine and a large knife. Deputies chased Arroyo across Oxnard Boulevard to the residential neighborhood on Entrada Drive. Deputies ordered Arroyo to stop numerous times, but he refused and continued to flee. Arroyo ran to the rear of a residence on the 1300 block of Entrada Drive where he was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives served a search warrant at Arroyo’s residence where they contacted Arroyo’s wife and several minor children. During the search, detectives located about a quarter pound of methamphetamine, firearms, ammunition and evidence that Arroyo was actively involved in the sales of methamphetamine.
Due to the location of the drugs and the minor children, Child Protective Services responded to assist with the investigation.
Arroyo was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Main Jail for violations of possession for sales of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, child endangerment, attempted destruction of evidence, and resisting arrest. Arroyo’s bail was set at $200,00.00 and he is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on 5/18/2015
