May 1st
Assault with Deadly Weapon (Vehicle) – San Pablo Ave./ Wall Ave.
At 1112 hours, a motorcyclist was cut off in traffic by a male driving a light blue Ford pickup. The motorcyclist hit the vehicle’s side view mirror with his hand and the truck began to follow after the motorcycle. The two men exchanged words and the truck accelerated into the rear of the motorcycle knocking over the bike and throwing the rider to the ground. The Ford pickup then fled the scene north on San Pablo Avenue. The driver of the truck was described as an HMA, 27yrs, dark complexion, black hair, blue baseball hat.
Warrant Arrest – City Park at Eureka Ave/ Liberty St.
At 1616 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop inside the park and spoke with a juvenile male who had a no bail warrant for his arrest stemming from an assault with a deadly weapon in San Francisco. The juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Hall in Martinez.
Embezzled Rental Car: San Pablo Avenue/Bayview Avenue:
At 2001 hours, an officer arrested a 49 year old male from Richmond for driving an overdue U-Haul van reported as stolen to the CHP. The vehicle was rented in January by the man that was arrested. He was booked and released on a citation.
Warrant Arrest - 722 Liberty Street:
At 2058 hours, an officer contacted a subject during a pedestrian stop. The 19 year old man from Lakeport was wanted on a Lakeport PD DUI warrant. He was booked and released on a citation.
Commercial Burglary – Blue Moon Saloon 9937 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2219 hours, an officer responded to the report of a commercial burglary. The officer learned that on 05/01/2015, an unidentified suspect stole $222 in US currency from the back drawer of the bar. The theft is under investigation.
May 2nd
Recovered Stolen Vehicle - Carlson Blvd / Columbia Avenue:
At 0146 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving on San Pablo Avenue without headlights. The officer arrested the driver, a 43 year old Richmond resident after discovering the vehicle he was driving was a stolen VW Jetta. The man was also in possession of methamphetamine, hypodermic needles and had a felony CCC arrest warrant. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.
Missing Person Located– 800 block of Park Way
An officer was flagged down by a man who had reported his wife as a missing person the previous evening. The man told offices his wife had returned home safely and did not need any further police assistance. The woman’s name was removed from the missing person database.
Warrant Arrest – Giovanni’s Produce and Grocery 1600 Liberty St.
At 1144 hours, ECPD officers responded to a report that a man was going door to door asking residents to call police for help. Officers located the 31 year old El Sobrante man inside a business and determined he had a $365K warrant for his arrest. The man was later transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.
Grand Theft– 600 block of Elm St.
A homeowner called to report that her jewelry totaling $5K had been stolen from her residence. The homeowner believes the suspect was part of a cleaning service that was present at the home between 1030 hours and 1330 hours the prior day. No suspect has been identified in this crime.
Shoplifting- Verizon Wireless 410 El Cerrito Plaza
Officers report that a female entered the business and removed two cell phones and a tablet device from a display before fleeing from the store. The estimated loss of the electronic devices is $899. The woman was described as a BFA, mid 20’s, 5’3” 120 pounds, wearing a grey puffy coat, red skirt, and had a tattoo on her left calf.
Grand Theft- Chase Bank 9950 San Pablo Ave
At 1242 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a male subject making an unauthorized withdrawal from a bank account. The man fled prior to the officers’ arrival but left behind his identification. Officer discovered that the male had used a fraudulent California driver’s license to withdraw $1800 dollars from the victims account. The suspect was described as a BMA, 30-40 years old, 5’7” – 5’8”, skinny build, dark kangol hat, short sleeve purple button up shirt with collar.
May 3rd
Driving under the influence of an Alcoholic Beverage - San Pablo Avenue / Carlson Blvd:
At 0103 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. He discovered the driver; a 25 year old Pittsburg man was operating the vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
Criminal Activity- 3400 block of Belmont Ave.
At 1541 hours, a citizen called to report seeing several juveniles inside a vacant home. Officers arrived and contacted a group of 5 juvenile men and women as they were driving away. Inside the vehicle was alcohol and a small quantity of controlled substance which were confiscated. The juveniles were released to parents at the scene.
Methamphetamine Possession - San Pablo Avenue / El Dorado Ave:
At 0337 hours, an officer contacted a 54 year old Richmond man during a pedestrian stop. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a pipe. He was booked and cite released.
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Avenue / Waldo Avenue:
At 0358 hours, an officer arrested a 61 year old Vacaville woman on a Vacaville PD theft warrant during a traffic stop. She was booked and released on a citation.
