Murder Suspect Joe Andrew Cortez, 18 years old, was arrested yesterday, 4/30/15, at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. CVPD Crimes of Violence Detectives, in coordination with the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Apprehension Team, facilitated the surrender of Cortez for the murder warrant in the April 23rd violent stabbing death of Rene Macias Pressa. Cortez turned himself in to authorities at the Port of Entry and was transported to the Chula Vista Police Department. He was eventually booked into San Diego County Central Jail.
