Police Blotter April 24 - 27

April 24th

Stolen Vehicle – 3300 block of Santa Clara Ave:
At 0830 hours, a Community Service officer responded to the report of a stolen vehicle. An unidentified suspect stole a tan 1995 Mercury Villager. The theft occurred in between April 23rd at 2330 hours and April 24th at 0830 hours.

Auto Burglary – El Dorado Ave/Carlson Blvd.
At 1007 hours, an Community Service Officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. In between 0001 hours and 0955 hours, an unidentified suspect entered a vehicle throw a broken window and removed personal items. It also appeared that the suspect attempted to steal the vehicle as the steering column was damaged.

Shoplifting / Warrant Arrest – Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave. At 1142 hours, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting that had just occurred. A motorcycle officer was in the parking lot issuing a citation and noticed the theft suspect fleeing the area. The suspect, a 51 year old San Francisco man was arrested and the stolen items recovered. He was also wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. He was booked and released on citations at the El Cerrito Police Department.

Attempted Robbery - 5010 EC Plaza: At 1936 hours, an officer responded to the report of an attempted robbery. The victim, a juvenile was accosted by two males who attempted to steal his belongings. The first suspect was described a black male, approximately 20 years old, 6’05” 220 lbs, the second suspect was described as a black male with no further details.

Disorderly Conduct - 10012 San Pablo Ave: At 2247 hours, an officer responded to the report of a disturbance at Atlas Liquors. The suspect, a 28 year old man from San Pablo was found in the parking lot partially disrobed. He was too intoxicated to be booked and was transported by ambulance to the Hospital.

April 25th

Storage Shed Burglary – 800 block of Bates Ave.
At 0630 hours, an officer responded to the report of two suspects entering a storage shed and removing two chainsaws. They fled in a dark gray newer model SUV.

Public Intoxication / Probation Violation – San Pablo Ave. / Potrero Ave.
At 1622 hours, an officer observed a heavily intoxicated male soliciting a person to purchase alcohol for him at a liquor store. The subject was also on probation. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Shoplifting, Public Intoxication – Resisting Arrest – Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1658 hours, officers were dispatched to the report of a man who had just stolen alcohol from Safeway. Responding officers located the suspect, a 54 year old transient male. The intoxicated man fought with officers and taken into custody. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest - 1000 EC Plaza: At 0401 hours, an officer contacted a suspicious subject in the El Cerrito Plaza. The subject, a 41 year old transient male had a warrant from San Bernardino County. He was booked and released on a citation at the El Cerrito Police Department.

Possession of concentrated cannabis and burglary tools - San Pablo Avenue / Moeser Lane: At 0423 hours, an officer stopped a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation. The bicyclist, a 25 year old San Pablo resident was on probation for auto theft. He was found to be in possession of shaved keys and was wearing rubber gloves. Shaved keys are automobile ignition keys that have been filed down. He was also in possession of concentrated cannabis. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Norvell St:
At 1741 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 1330 and 1730 hours, the unidentified suspect broke the window of a residence and gained access to the interior of the house. Once inside, the suspect stole jewelry, watches, laptops and matching men’s and woman’s green and white Novara Fusion commuter bicycles.

Residential Burglary – 1500 block of S. 56th St:
At 1912 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 1430 and 1730 hours, an unidentified suspect slit the window screen and opened the window, however did not make entry into the residence and there was no loss.

Warrant Arrest 11299 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2152 hours, an officer spotted a subject who was known to the officer to have a warrant for his arrest. The subject, a 30 year old Hercules resident was arrested, booked and released on a citation.

Possession of Marijuana for Sales, Failure to register as a sex offender, false information to a Police officer - 6400 Cutting Blvd:
At 2255 hours, an officer contacted a subject at the Del Norte BART station. The subject was found to be in possession of marijuana for sales. The man, a 40 year old Richmond resident identified himself as another person. The subject’s true identity was discovered during the booking process. The man had a felony warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

April 26th

Traffic Pursuit, Felon in possession of a firearm, Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Avenue / Potrero Avenue:
At 0017 hours, an officer contacted a traffic stop. A passenger from the vehicle immediately fled from the vehicle, holding his waistband. The vehicle, a Honda Accord fled from the officer. A brief traffic pursuit was initiated, however the suspect was driving recklessly and the officer discontinued the pursuit. The officer then returned to the area where the suspect fled. He discovered the subject hiding by the dumpsters behind Denny’s. The subject, a 23 year old Pittsburg resident with prior felony convictions was detained. The officer located a firearm with an obliterated serial number next to the area where the subject was hiding. The man also had a warrant for his arrest. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costs County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Theft, Tampering with an Auto, Probation violation - 2000 block of Tapscott Ave:
At 0119 hours, officers responded to the report of a theft from an automobile that had just occurred. An officer located the suspect, a 35 year old San Pablo resident lurking in the area. The man was found to be in possession of items stolen from unlocked vehicles parked in the area. The man was on probation for gun possession. He was placed under citizen’s arrest and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Battery – Warrant Arrest 6060 Central Avenue:
At 0239 hours, officers responded to the report of a fight at Nations Hamburgers. A subject, a 53 year old Richmond resident was causing a disturbance at the restaurant. He was harassing and swearing at the staff. A female patron intervened and the man pushed her to the ground. He was detained by responding officers and placed under citizen’s arrest. He was booked and released on a citation. Prior to officer’s arrival, another patron intervened and a physical confrontation ensued. This patron, a 23 year old Oakland resident left the scene but was located by officers as he was leaving the area. He was found to have two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. He was released on a citation.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Drug paraphernalia, Probation violation, Resisting Arrest- Eureka Avenue / Mid Crest Way:

At 0842 hours, officers contacted a suspicious person who was walking along cursing and kicking random objects. The 47 year old transient man from San Pablo was exhibiting symptoms on being under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. When officers attempted to place the man under arrest he resisted arrest and had to be taken to the ground and detained. Officers also learned that the man was in violation of the terms of his County probation. The man was transported to the Contra Costa Detention Facility in Martinez.

Stolen Vehicle- 2200 block of Key Blvd:

At 0959 hours, an officer responded to a report of an automobile theft. An unidentified suspect stole a green Jeep Cherokee sometime between April 25th at 1400 hours and April 26th at 0940 hours.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- Mono Ave/ Conlon Ave:

At 1054 hours, while circulating the neighborhood for clues from the earlier stolen vehicle, an officer located a green Honda Accord which had been reported stolen to the Richmond Police Department on April 19th. The vehicle was towed when the registered owner could not be contacted.

Burglary- 700 block of Colusa Ave:

At 1618 hours, an officer responded to a residence for a report of a stolen electric bicycle from an open garage door. The theft occurred sometime between 1500 and 1600 hours.

April 27th

Petty Theft- Bank of America 10422 San Pablo Ave:

At 1547 hours, officers responded to a report that an unknown suspect had accessed their bank account via the ATM machine and removed $660 from the machine at 1300 hours.

Embezzlement- 6070 El Cerrito Plaza:

At 1610 hours, officers responded to a call of a theft of a bank bag from inside a safe inside the store. The bank bag contained $6800 in cash and a suspect had not yet been identified.

Warrant Arrest – El Cerrito Plaza

At 1935 hours officers arrived to a business in the El Cerrito Plaza for a disturbance and determined one of the subjects, a 25 year old female, had an outstanding warrant. The female was taken into custody and then released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 10500 Block of San Pablo Ave

At 2053 hours officers were dispatched to a business for a call of an unwanted person. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the unwanted person, a 45 year old female, had an outstanding warrant. The female was intoxicated and taken to the hospital for examination.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – I80 and Cutting Boulevard

At 2223 hours an officer was flagged regarding a male on the freeway. The officer located the subject and upon contacting the subject, a 57 year old male, was in possession of a controlled substance. The male was booked and released on a citation.

Driving under the influence – 11821 San Pablo Avenue

At 0136 hours officers were dispatched to a call of a high centered vehicle at the business. Officers arrived on scene and discovered the driver, a 57 year old male, was under the influence. The male was booked and released on a citation to a friend.
