Advisory

SEVERE WEATHER ANTICIPATED IN ATHENS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 25

Athens is proud to host the 36th Annual Twilight Criterium this year.
Unfortunately, the weather forecast indicates the potential for severe weather that could develop quickly and without warning during Saturday’s events. Severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes have been forecasted. In the event of severe weather, those attending this year’s Twilight Criterium are encouraged to seek shelter if necessary and use parking decks as a contingency if other locations are not available.

In the event of severe weather, such as a tornado warning issued by the National Weather Service, attendees will be warned through the activation of area sirens as well as public address systems. If you hear sirens activate, please seek shelter immediately.

A map is included with this message. Please take time to review it and become familiar with nearby parking decks in case they are needed.
