Investigators Arrest Former Rogers County Commissioner for Embezzlement
This afternoon, OSBI agents, investigators with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, and Rogers County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a former Rogers County Commissioner. Officials tracked down Kirt Thacker (d.o.b. 6-19-1969) in Inola where he leases property and arrested him for two counts of embezzlement. He was then transported to the Rogers County jail where he was booked into the facility. The investigation revealed Thacker used county-owned equipment on his own property and used county equipment, manpower, and materials to build a driveway for the Rogers County Cherokee Association without proper legal authority. This case has culminated with the Attorney General’s Office choosing to pursue charges after several years of investigating. “OSBI never gave up on this case even though it took longer than most embezzlement cases,” Jessica Brown, OSBI Public Information Officer, says. The court has set Thacker’s bond at $30,000.
