The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office has received 6 reports of daytime residential burglaries over the past few days, between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 p.m.  In each case the burglars are quickly in and out of the residence, gaining entry through an unlocked door or window.  The burglars are taking small items which can be easily carried by hand or in a pillow case; i.e. jewelry, guns, money, collectibles or alcohol. These burglaries have been occurring in the Lushmeadows and Ponderosa Basin communities.

The Sheriff’s Office has assigned several resources to these incidents.

As a reminder please close and lock all doors and windows whenever you are not at home.

Please report anything suspicious and/or out of the ordinary.  For instance; delivery vehicles that you feel are unusual to the area at the specific day and time.
