Escondido Police Ask for Assistance in Identifying Truck in Dubois Investigation

The Escondido Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a pickup truck seen in a surveillance video recorded the day of Amber Dubois’ disappearance. The video is from the Escondido High School surveillance system of the school bus maintenance yard at approximately 7:10 a.m., on Friday February 13, 2009. The video depicts a red pick up truck entering the school maintenance parking lot, parks for approximately 3 minutes and exits out of the same driveway back to Broadway Street.

The Escondido Police Department is attempting to identify the truck and its driver. The truck appears to be a newer full size four-door crew cab pickup truck. It is burgundy or maroon in color and is equipped with chrome bed rails or tie down rails with chrome running boards and wheels. Also, it appears from the video, the tailgate is either missing or has a modified black tailgate to accommodate a 5th wheel trailer. There is no further information such as a license plate or driver description. For information regarding trucks that fit this description contact Beverly Marquez at (760) 839-4752. Anonymous information can be made via the Anonymous Tip Line at (760) 743-TIPS or via our website at www.escondido.org/police.
