J. Anthony Enterprises will be conducting Safety Improvements on Southern State Parkway and Route 109.
The reconstruction project is located in the town of Babylon. Work on NY 109 is from east of NY 109 bridge over the Southern State Pkwy to the intersection of New Highway. Work on the exit ramp eastbound off ramp to east bound NY 109 is from the junction with the Southern State Pkwy to the intersection with NY 109. Center line audible rumble strips are to be installed at various locations in the town of Huntington, Babylon and Smithtown.
The work on the Southern State exit ramp consists of building a new ramp while maintaining traffic on the existing ramp. During the construction phases traffic on the ramp will be shifted from the existing ramp to the new ramp. The work on NY 109 consists of building a thru right lane west bound at the intersection of NY 109. In addition the North West and South East Island will be reconstructed. The work scope consists of drainage, concrete pavement, lighting, signal work, asphalt paving, sidewalk, line striping, landscaping and other related work.
During phases of construction daily and short term lane closures will be implemented on NY 109 & New Highway. All work to will be conducted adhering guidelines of the New York State Department of Transportation.
