Police K9 Locates Pounds of Illegal Drugs 
El Cerrito Police Department K9 units are cross trained in handler protection and narcotics. The K9 units conduct narcotic searches within the City of El Cerrito, and are often loaned to outside agencies along the I80 corridor to assist with arrests and narcotic searches.
El Cerrito K9 Denzel was requested and assisted an outside agency with the service of a search warrant. Subsequent to the search warrant being served, K9 Denzel alerted to the center console of a vehicle. The console assembly did not appear to have been moved, damaged, or tampered with. Upon closer inspection, detectives located over three pounds of methamphetamine and over three ounces of heroin.
