Police Blotter April 10 - April 13

April 10th

Vehicle tampering – 6600 block of Cutting Blvd
Between 04/07/15 at 0930 hours and 0800 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s Honda and attempted to force the ignition.

Petty theft of license plates – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave.
Between 4/9/15 at 2150 hours and 4/10/15 at 0945 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s front license plate.

Shoplifting – Chevron, 11319 San Pablo Ave.
At 1340 hours, an officer was dispatched to the location after a Hispanic male adult in his 20’s, 5’08” 185 lbs, wearing a white tee-shirt, black bb cap, black shorts, stole two 12 packs of Budweiser and fled westbound onto Potrero Avenue.

Shoplifting – Lucky, 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1301 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting. The suspect pushed a shopping cart full of birthday party items and deli food out the door without paying. She came back in to help herself to a second helping of goods and was confronted by store security. The suspect, who had also put in an order for a birthday cake, which included her name. She then fled in a red Nissan Sentra.

Shoplifting – T-Mobile, 11511 San Pablo Ave.
At 1549 hours, a suspect entered the store and yanked off a gold I-Phone 6 of the display and then fled in a 1990’s cargo van, which was spray-painted black over white. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s, Bald, 5’07” 190, with a large scar on back of his head.

Robbery – Dress Barn 430 EC Plaza:
At 1922 hours, officers responded to the report of a suspect stealing clothing items from the store. The suspect battered an employee and fled with the items. The suspect was described a black female, in her 20’s, approximately 5”03” with a thin build wearing black clothing.

April 11th

Driving under the influence of an Alcoholic Beverage / Gun possession – San Pablo Avenue / Fairmount Avenue:
At 0034 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The officer subsequently arrested the driver, a 58 year old Richmond resident for DUI. The driver was also in possession of a loaded 38 special revolver with the serial number obliterated. The suspect, a convicted felon was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention facility.

Public intoxication, Probation violation – San Pablo Ave. / Blake St.
Officers were dispatched to the area for a fight between five people. They arrived to find a boisterous group to include a 53-year-old Richmond man and a 32-year-old Richmond man. Both men were extremely intoxicated and unable to care for themselves. Both men were arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.


Assault with a deadly weapon – Valero, 11687 San Pablo Ave.
At 1503 hours, officers were dispatched to the location after two suspects attacked the victim in the mini mart. The suspects struck the victim in the face with fists and choked him unconscious. Once on the ground, the suspects kicked the victim’s head. The first suspect is described as an Asian male, 23-25 years old, 5’4”, husky build, bald, wearing white t-shirt, grey sweatpants. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 27 years old, 6’, skinny build, short hair, tattoo on his face, tattoo sleeves, black t-shirt, dark jeans, dark hat.

Burglary – 5600 block of Jordan Avenue:
At 1829 hour, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary. An unidentified suspect entered a residence over the prior 7 days via an unsecured window and stole electronics.

Driving under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage:
At 0256 hours, an officer located a vehicle which had just been involved in a collision. The collision damaged several trees and caused major damage to the suspect’s vehicle. The driver, a 43 year old Newark woman was arrested for DUI. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

April 12th

Public intoxication – 11511 San Pablo Ave.
At 1245 hours, officers were dispatched to the area after a 54-year-old transient man stripped naked to change his clothes outside near a restaurant. Upon contacting the man, officers found that he was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The man was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

April 13th

Warrant Arrest – 6009 Potrero Ave.
At 0056 hours, an officer conducted a bicycle stop and arrested a 37 year old Richmond woman on a No Bail stolen vehicle warrant. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Public intoxication – BART Path / Hill St.
At 0747 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for an intoxicated male that was drinking and throwing bottles. Officers contacted a 49-year-old San Leandro man and found that he was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The man was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
