INCIDENT: Human Remains Found on Forest Trail

LOCATION: North Shore Dr./Myrtle Ave., Big Bear City

SUBJECT: Brian McCamish, 60-year-old WMA


SUMMARY:

UPDATE: The Coroner’s Office has positively identified the human remains found on March 27, 2015 as Brian McCamish. McCamish was reported as a missing person on September 23, 2014. The cause and manner of Brian McCamish’s death is undetermined.

03/27/15 - On Friday, March 27, 2015, at approximately 11:05 a.m., a hiker reported finding what he believed to be human remains in the forested area North of Myrtle Avenue and North Shore Drive in Big Bear City. Deputies and detectives from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene and confirmed the remains are human.

Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail were requested and responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.

The victim’s identification and cause of death will be determined and released by the Coroner Division of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
