Deputies investigate a fatal traffic collision involving a 64 year old Highland resident.

INVOLVED PARTY#1: Pablo Avila (pedestrian), 64 year old resident of Highland.
INVOLVED PARTY#2: Ariana Olivas, 21, resident of San Bernardino
Driving a red Toyota Corolla
SUMMARY:
On April 2, at 7:51 p.m., Avila walked form the southeast corner of Palm and Cypress toward the southwest corner in an unmarked crosswalk. At the same time, Olivas was driving south on Palm in the number two lane approaching the uncontrolled intersection with Cypress. The driver’s side front quarter panel of Olivas’ vehicle struck Avila, causing fatal injuries. Avila was pronounced dead at the scene.
