Cold Case Solved: Man Arrested for 2004 Murder

(HOUSTON, TX) - Members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitives Task Force have arrested a man for a 2004 murder after investigators with the HCSO's Cold Case Unit identified him as the suspect.

Vith “Chino” Loch was arrested on April 1, 2015 in Brazoria County for the August 7, 2004 murder of Soeuth “Mario” Nay.

The HCSO's Cold Case Unit reopened the investigation into the unsolved murder in 2013, and ultimately filed the charge of felony murder against Loch.

Loch was the last person seen with the victim on the night he went missing in the 700 block of W. Greens Rd in north Harris County. Witnesses stated that the two were arguing. They left together in Loch’s truck. The victim’s decomposed body was found three weeks later in the 1000 block of Northville.

The HCSO's Cold Case Unit was able to develop new evidence and additional witnesses during the two-year investigation.

Investigators also determined that Vith Loch has been involved in at least three other shootings and one aggravated sexual assault of a 13 year-old child. The HCSO's Child Abuse Unit is currently investigating that case.

Loch has confessed to Nay's murder.

He is incarcerated in the Harris County jail with no bond.

Loch's photo is attached.
