Big Bear Deputies Arrest a Man who Stole a Shuttle Van from a Hotel in Inglewood

INCIDENT: Transient Arrested for Possession of Stolen Hotel Shuttle Van

SUSPECT: Robert Kreckel, 27, Transient
VICTIM: Adventurer Hotel
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at approximately 3:50 a.m., the California Highway Patrol notified the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station of a stolen vehicle with GPS that was being tracked in the Big Bear Valley area. The vehicle is a Mercedes shuttle van, and was stolen from the Adventurer Hotel in Inglewood. Big Bear Station deputies conducted a thorough search of the area. Deputy Stanley Conway located the van at approximately 4:20 a.m. driving towards Lucerne Valley on Highway 18 near Cactus Flats.
Deputy Conway conducted a felony traffic stop and arrested the driver, identified as 27-year-old Robert Kreckel, without incident. Suspect Robert Kreckel was booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of possession of a stolen vehicle. Kreckel remains in custody on $50,000 bail, pending an arraignment hearing set for April 3 in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
The victim and the Inglewood Police Department have been notified that the vehicle was located and the suspect was arrested.
