Composite Sketch Released of Possible Suspect

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that the Special Victims Unit continues to gather information on a sexual assault and carjacking investigation.

In order to gain Crimestoppers tips, Investigators are releasing a composite sketch of what the suspect may look like. The sketch comes courtesy of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) forensic artist.

The female victim tells CPD that she and the unidentified man arranged to meet at approximately 1:30 a.m. on March 30, 2015 at the 200 block of Gregg Street. When the man arrived, he allegedly grabbed the victim’s car keys and drove her around town against her will.

She reports that the man forced her at gunpoint to a secluded location where a sexual assault occurred. The suspect then left the scene in the victim’s car, which has since been recovered.

The suspect is described as a 20-30 year-old, dark-skinned black male, approximately 6’4” and weighing 300 pounds.

If you have information about the investigation, or recognize the man in the police sketch, Chief Holbrook encourages citizens to call, text or submit online, their anonymous tip to Crimestoppers in any of the following ways:
