PHONE SCAM. Subject claiming to be member of city commission in an attempting to check homes for earthquake damage.

Please be aware of “Phone Scams” involving individuals pretending to be representatives of the City of Beverly Hills.
A Beverly Hills resident received a phone call from an unknown male who identified himself as being from the “City of Beverly Hills Commission Group.” The unknown male asked if he could inspect the resident’s property for earthquake damage. Believing this was suspicious being that there have been no recent earthquakes. The resident asked the unknown male for his phone number in order to verify that he was calling from the City. The unknown male declined and stated he had thousands of people to call and there was no phone number he could provide in which the resident could contact him.
Calls claiming to be from the City of Beverly Hills should be verified.
Do not provide personal information no matter how pushy and aggressive the caller may be. Odds are it may be a scam.
If you receive, or have received, this type of call, please contact BHPD at 310.550.4951 to report the incident.
