Police Blotter March 27th - March 30th

March 27th

Stolen vehicle – 1600 block of Elm St.
Between 2000 hours on the 26th and 0630 hours on March 27th, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1996 Honda Civic.

Shoplift, Probation violation – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1436 hours, an officer accepted a citizen’s arrest of a 54-year-old transient man after he stole merchandise from Safeway. The man also violated the terms of his probation by committing theft. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Sexual Battery - Eureka Ave/BART Path:

At 2021 hours, an officer reports an unknown race male came up from behind the victim and grabbed her buttocks. The male then fled the area. Suspect is described as a other race male, 5’10”, and a skinny build. The suspect was wearing beige pants and a dark colored jacket.

Warrant Arrest - S.56th St/Cypress Ave:

At 2110 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a passenger, a 44 year old male, for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and transported to county jail.

Residential Burglary – 7900 block Terrace Dr:

An officer reports an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence via an unlocked rear sliding door and stole jewelry and small electronics.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery San Pablo Ave/Cutting Blvd:

At 2335 hours, an officer ran the license plate of a 1999 Ford F350 and discovered it was a reported stolen vehicle. The driver, a 38 year old female, was taken in custody without incident. The female was booked and transported to county jail.

DUI - San Pablo Ave/Santa Cruz Ave:

At 0151 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 21 year old male, for DUI.

Warrant Arrest - 11545 San Pablo Ave (Staples):
At 0242 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested, a 32 year old female, for an outstanding warrant.

March 28th
Mental health evaluation – Poinsett Ave. / Ludwig Ave.
At 1058 hours, an officer committed a 23-year-old El Cerrito man for a psychiatric evaluation after he suffered a psychotic break and was running into the street in front of vehicles. The man was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for by AMR.

Stolen vehicle – 100 block of Ashbury Ave.
Between 0800 hours and 1230 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2013 Jeep Wrangler.

March 29th

Located missing juvenile – Cutting Blvd. / Kearney St.
At 1224 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and found that the passenger, a 17-year-old Richmond girl had been reported missing. The officers spoke to the girl’s mother and found that she reported her daughter missing several months back during a custody dispute. The mother just failed to have her removed from the missing persons system. The mother last spoke with the daughter yesterday and authorized officers to release her to the custody of the driver.

Possession of Controlled Substance - Stockton Avenue/Balra Drive:

At 2007 hours officers were dispatched to the area Waldo Avenue and Everett Street for a report of a male going in and out of driveways. An officer located a subject matching the description, a 43 year old male, and during a search of his person a controlled substance was located. The male was booked and then issued a citation.

Warrant Arrest - 3010 El Cerrito Plaza:

At 0454 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and discovered, the 50 year old male, had an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and then transported to the county jail.

March 30th

Warrant arrest- Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 1050 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian after observing a 23-year-old man commit a vehicle code infraction. The man was found to have an outstanding $50K for his arrest from San Francisco. He man was then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Located missing adult- San Pablo Ave. / Cutting Blvd.
At 1057 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 46-year-old Richmond man who had been reported missing. The original person who had reported the man missing was with the man and had forgotten to tell police the man had been located.

Residential Burglary 1300 block of Elm St:

An officer reports an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by kicking in the front door. Once inside the suspect(s) took numerous pieces of jewelry.

Warrant Arrest: San Pablo Ave and Fairmount Ave:

At 1905 hours an officer contacted a 52 year old female and discovered she had three outstanding warrants. The female was booked and cited.

Residential Burglary 1300 block of Elm St:

An officer reports an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence via an unlocked back window. Once inside suspects removed several pieces of jewelry.

Possession of Controlled Substance for Sale: Stockton Ave and Norvell St:

At 1931 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. At the request of the officer, a K9 unit responded and alerted on the gas tank lid/cap. The officer checked the lid and discovered a leather glove containing several baggies of suspected controlled substance. The driver, a 58 year old male, and the passenger a 29 year old male were both taken into custody. A subsequent search of the passenger’s backpack revealed a meth pipe.
