Police Blotter March 17 - March 19

March 17th

Theft from Vehicle-7300 block of Pomona Ct.
A Community Service Officer reports unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unsecured vehicle and removed property. The theft occurred in between 3/16 at 2330 and 3/17 at 0936 hours.

Theft from Vehicle-800 block of Galvin Dr.
A Community Service Officer reports unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unsecured vehicle and removed property. The theft occurred in between 3/16 at 1500 and 3/17 at 0800 hours.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery-900 block of Sea view Dr.
At 1030 hours, an officer was patrolling the area and noticed a suspicious vehicle. During the investigation, the officer discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Richmond Police Department on 3/12/15.

Residential Burglary-200 block of Pomona Ave.
An officer reports unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s residence via an unlocked window and stole jewelry and cash. The burglary occurred on 3/16/15, between 1100-2200 hours.

Theft from Vehicle-7500 block of Terrace Dr.
A Community Service Officer reports unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed property. The theft occurred between 3/16 at 1500 and 3/17 at 0800 hours.

Attempted Robbery- Fairmount Avenue and Lexington Avenue
At 2247 hours, officers responded to the intersection for a report of a loud argument or possible fight. When officers arrived a male victim told them that four subjects attempted to remove his wallet from his pants pocket. The theft was unsuccessful and the group surrounded the male victim and his girlfriend. No further attempts to steal anything were made and the subjects left on foot.

March 18th

Vehicle Theft-6009 Potrero Ave.
A Community Service Officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s Ford E150 on 3/18/15 at 0423 hours.

Vehicle Theft-6600 block of Barrett Ave.
A Community Service Officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s Honda Civic between 3/13 at 1800 and 3/18 at 0950 hours.

Shoplifting While on Parole for Burglary- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 2225 hours, officers responded to Safeway for a report of a shoplifting. The suspect fled towards the Del Norte BART station after stealing $43 worth of Red Bull and sticky buns. An officer located the 28 year old male suspect from Oakland on the BART platform. The suspect surrendered to the officer and the merchandise was recovered. The man is on parole for burglary so an officer contacted the California Department of Corrections to advise them of the arrest and they elected to place a parole hold on the man. The officer booked the man at the El Cerrito Police Department and then transported him to the county jail in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 2251 hours, an officer was at Safeway investigating a theft when he noticed a suspicious woman loitering near the checkstands. The officer contacted the woman and a records check revealed that the 37 year old woman from San Francisco had an outstanding warrant held by San Francisco PD for possession of stolen property. The officer arrested the woman and transported her to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking, the officer transported the woman to the county jail in Martinez.

Shoplifting- Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 0052 hours, officers responded to a theft in progress. An officer detained the suspect’s in a vehicle in the parking lot as they attempted to leave. The officer arrested a 38 year old man from Oakland for stealing $647 worth of groceries from the store. A 38 year old female passenger was also arrested for possession of crack cocaine, providing false identifying information to a peace officer, and for a warrant held by Antioch PD for a theft related case. The officer booked both subjects at the El Cerrito Police Department. The man was released with a citation and the woman was transported to the county jail in Martinez.

March 19th

Warrant Arrest-6500 block of Portola Dr.
At approximately 0947 hours, officers went to a residence to serve an arrest warrant. Officers located the 23 year old male resident of El Cerrito and arrested him for the outstanding warrant. The officers booked the male at the El Cerrito Police department and transported him to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon- Santa Clara Avenue and Lassen Street
At 1644 hours, El Cerrito Police Officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting in this area. Multiple residents called the police to report hearing the sounds of gunfire. El Cerrito officers arrived and found one uninjured man who reported that unknown men had shot at him from a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark gray Toyota Camry sedan with tinted windows. Public Intoxication- Denny’s Restaurant 11344 San Pablo Avenue
At 0013 hours, Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male that refused to leave the restaurant. An officer contacted the 51 year old man from Richmond and arrested him for public intoxication. The officer transported the man to the county jail in Martinez.
