OSBI Marks 90 Years of Investigations
Ninety years ago today (3/28/1925) the Oklahoma legislature created and the Governor signed into law House Bill 106. The Oklahoma Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation would be the first of its kind in the United States to combine the roles of identification and investigation. The bill allowed for a superintendent (director), an assistant superintendent, one expert record searcher and bookkeeper, one stenographer and bookkeeper, and three investigators. Today, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation employs more than 300 people. Find historic photographs on OSBI's Facebook page.
