On Thursday, March 26^th, 2015, at approximately 5:00 a.m., Carson Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 22600 block of Normandie Avenue, in the unincorporated area of Torrance, regarding an illegal marijuana grow.

Carson Station detectives learned a business specializing in customizing cars, was also housing a large illegal marijuana grow inside the business.  Detectives entered the business and retrieved approximately 200 pounds of marijuana, dozens of high intensity light bulbs, hydroponics, charcoal filters, and fans. There were 347 raw marijuana plants in various stages of growth.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is $200,000.

A male adult was arrested, and the marijuana grow was dismantled. The suspect was booked for illegal cultivation of marijuana and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. His next court date is Monday March 30, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. in Compton Superior Court.

The investigation is on-going, and detectives are utilizing multiple resources to gather additional information.
