Victorville man arrested for numerous counts of Annoying Children and Indecent Exposure

DATE/TIME: September 4, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m. and
Multiple occurrences from January 7, 2015 - March 16, 2015 approximately 7:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Annoying Children and Indecent Exposure

LOCATION: La Mesa Road and Stanford Street/ Arvilla Drive
Princeton Drive/ Mesa Linda Avenue and Dos Palmas Road in Victorville

SUSPECT: David Adaberto Vargas, 26 years old, Victorville

VICTIM(S): #1 - 17 year old female #2 - 15 year old female #3 - 13 year old female
#4 - 13 year old female #5 - 13 year old female #6 - 13 year old female #7 - 13 year old female


SUMMARY: On September 4, 2015 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Vargas walked up to the 17 year old female victim near La Mesa Road and Stanford Drive while she was walking to school. Vargas asked the victim for directions to the mall, and then pulled down his pants and masturbated in front of the victim.

From January 7, 2015 to March 16, 2015 in the morning around 7:30 a.m., Vargas approached the other female victims in the areas of Arvilla Drive and Princeton Drive and Mesa Linda Avenue and Dos Palmas Road in his vehicle and asked the victims for directions to the mall. He continued to follow the victims in his car as they tried to walk away, causing the victims to have concern for their safety. Vargas masturbated in his car in front of three of these victims. Vargas drove a 2001 white Chevrolet Malibu four door sedan with license plate 7ENL446, and later drove a 1996 black Nissan Maxima four door sedan with the same license plate.

Vargas was arrested on March 24, 2015 for multiple counts of annoying and molesting children with a prior conviction, and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center with a $100,000 bail amount.

It is believed that Vargas committed similar acts that were not reported.
