On Wednesday, March 18, 2015, Deputy Omar Chavez and I had the privilege of meeting a beautiful family with an amazingly brave 14 year-old girl who has been fighting cancer for several years.
Earlier in the week, I was asked by the Executive Director of the Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation, Corky Bell, if we would assist the foundation in making this young girl’s day a little brighter by escorting the limousine to the 14 freeway. The limousine would transport her and her family for a special two day getaway. Needless to say, Deputy Chavez and I were completely honored and excited to be a part of her day.
The foundation had a limousine transport her and her family to the Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, where they spent two nights. In addition, each family member was given a two day Park Hopper pass along with spending cash.
The Debbie Chisholm Memorial Foundation is Southern California’s only law enforcement based wish granting charity foundation. This wonderful foundation grants wishes of ill children by creating memories and treating the child like royalty for the day.
This young girl is a true inspiration to everyone and we feel blessed to have been included in her special day!
