On 3/20/15 at about 3:57am CVPD received a call of a female who had just been assaulted at the intersection of Broadway and J street. Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene within 5 minutes.

According to the victim and a witness, the victim had been walking northbound along the east curb line of Broadway. As she did so, a vehicle described to be a gray two-door truck pulled along side of her and there was a brief interaction between the driver and the victim.

The vehicle then pulled ahead of the victim and parked. The driver described as being a dark complected black male adult in his 20’s, approximately 5-7, 170 pounds with short hair and thin sideburns exited the truck and approached the victim. The suspect made sexually explicit comments to the victim, punched her in the face, began to sexually assault her and pulled her to the ground. He held her on the ground while the sexual assault continued for a few more minutes. When the victim called for help to someone who was across the street, the suspect stopped his assault and got into his truck and drove away last seen northbound on Broadway.

The Chula Vista Police Department’s Family Protection Unit is investigating the matter and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Chula Vista Police Department at 619-691-5151 or through Crimestoppers at 888-580-8477.
