Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Lake Grove last night.

Harold Edelman, of Medford, was walking southbound across Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Cube that was traveling eastbound on Nesconset Highway at 11:15 p.m.

Edelman, 70, suffered serious head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, Julie Chung, 38, of Oakland Gardens, NY, was not injured. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
