At approximately 12:30 Monday morning, a 911 call alerted the Bethany Fire Department of a fire at 6712 N.W. 24 Street. When fire fighters arrived, they began to douse the flames inside the home and found a dead body inside. Bethany police officers determined the person was likely a homicide victim and requested OSBI investigative and crime scene assistance. Nearly a half dozen agents worked the scene and also called in help from the State Fire Marshal's Office and the ATF. The medical examiner took the body for autopsy. That office will make positive identification of the victim and determine the cause and manner of death. Agents and Bethany officers are currently running several leads.
