Search for Coal County Murder Suspect Ends with His Death
The Coal County man wanted by authorities for murdering his brother died during a pursuit with law enforcement Friday evening. The Coal County Sheriff's Office requested OSBI assistance in the homicide of 39-year-old Naman Wade Vick. Deputies found him dead of a gunshot wound inside the home he and his brother shared at 1690 C.R. 1750. OSBI agents gathered information that Naman's brother committed the murder. Friday evening Vick was spotted driving his murdered brother's 1991 maroon Ford stepside pickup truck. Officers gave chase until Vick crashed the vehicle at Highway 31B near Onley where he fired a gun at officers. Officers returned fire. Vick died at the scene. The medical examiner will determine his cause of death. OSBI will continue to work the homicide case and deliver a report to the district attorney.
