THUR, 3/12/15 at 2:12 PM, A PSYCHIATRIC DETENTION OF A COMBATIVE SUBJECT occurred on the 24000 block of Amador. Officers were dispatched to calls from an apartment complex regarding an unknown male kicking and banging on an apartment door attempting to get in, and trying to fight various residents. The male attacked a maintenance worker at the complex. Officers detained the man and determined he was suffering from a psychiatric disorder and posed a danger to others, so he was placed on a mandatory psychiatric detention.

THUR, 3/12/15 at 4:00 PM, AN ARMED ROBBERY OCCURRED on the 1600 block of East Ave. A juvenile male suspect arranged to purchase a designer belt from the juvenile male victim. Once the victim gave the belt to the suspect for inspection, the suspect brandished a gun and took the belt. Officers were able to identify the suspect and he was arrested on 3/16/15.

FRI, 3/13/15 at 10:33 AM, A BURGLARY occurred on the 31000 block of Medinah. A woman was at home, when a male rang her doorbell several times, then went into her backyard when she did not answer the door. The woman locked herself in a bathroom when she heard the man trying to force entry into the residence through a door. The man tried to run away as officers were arriving, but he was arrested.

FRI, 3/13/15 at 5:10 PM, AN OUTSIDE AGENCY ASSIST FOR A SUICIDAL SUBJECT occurred on the train tracks at Industrial/Pacific. Union Pacific PD notified HPD that an adult female was struck and killed by a train and requested officers stabilize and organize the scene until Union Pacific Officers could get there. A little over an hour later, HPD officers got a call from the woman’s boyfriend, who discovered the suicide note she left behind.

FRI, 3/13/15 at 9:05 PM, A FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION occurred near Industrial/Marina. An adult female was driving north on Industrial at a high rate of speed, when she lost control of her car. The car crossed over the center median, struck a tree, and then struck another vehicle travelling the opposite direction, southbound on Industrial. The female was pronounced deceased at the scene and her sole passenger (an adult male) was transported to a nearby hospital. The male suffered critical injuries and expired at the hospital a short time later. There were six people in the second vehicle and two of them were transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries. It is unknown at this time whether or not drugs/alcohol were related to this fatal collision, which is being investigated by the Hayward PD Traffic Unit. A press release was dispersed.

SAT, 3/14/15 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, AN ABC ALCOHOL COMPLIANCE OPERATION was conducted by the Hayward PD Vice Unit, to ensure that establishments selling alcohol do not sell to underage minors/adults. Seven cites were issued for related violations and one warrant arrest (assault with a deadly weapon) was made.

SAT, 3/14/15 at 9:30 PM, POSSESSION OF A GUN AND MARIJUANA FOR SALES occurred on the 1200 block of Calhoun. Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle, blocking an intersection. Officers found three men in the car and noted the odor of marijuana coming from the car. One of men dumped a loaded handgun magazine onto the ground, so the officers searched the car and found a handgun, and a sizeable quantity of marijuana.

SAT, 3/14/15 at 11:05 PM, POSSESSION OF A LOADED GUN occurred at Morningside/Columbine. Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at a park where residents have complained of people imbibing drugs. Officers found four men standing around a car and noted the odor of marijuana. Two of the males were on probation with full search clauses. The officers discovered one of the men had a loaded gun, so he was arrested.

WED, 3/18/15 at 9:40 PM, AN ARMED ROBBERY occurred on the 19000 block of Hesperian. The black male suspect entered a store just before closing and demanded money. The man is about 6’2”, with a muscular build, short afro styled hair, and wearing a white t-shirt partially pulled up over his face.
