Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) Training

The Tustin Police Department is currently accepting applications for the Spring, 2015 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) course. CERT training provides families, businesses and neighborhood groups with the necessary skills to survive a major disaster and to sustain themselves until professional first responders are able to assist them. Additionally, if Tustin needs to supplement its response capabilities after a disaster, CERT can be deployed as neighborhood, business, and government support teams.

The CERT course features instruction in Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search & Rescue, Disaster Psychology and Homeland Security. The program will conclude with a Disaster Simulation Exercise.

The 22 hour course will take place during the evenings of Friday, March 27th and Friday, April 10th and all day on Saturday, March 28th and Saturday, April 11th. The instruction will take place at the Orange County Fire Authority Headquarters, located at 1 Fire Authority Road in Irvine, and will be taught by OCFA and TPD personnel.

Course Applications are available at the Tustin Police Department web site at www.Tustinpd.org. A full course schedule is available by an email request to [email protected].
