#LASD Fatal Traffic Collision on Pacific Coast Highway/Zuma View Place, Malibu

SUSPECT:             Pablo Carranza, male adult, 25 years old

CHARGE:              Felony Hit and Run

NARRATIVE:               

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, is currently investigating a fatal traffic collision on Pacific Coast Highway/Zuma View Place, City of Malibu.

On March 10, 2015, at 5:35 am, Malibu/Lost Hills Deputies and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a report of a hit-and-run traffic collision in the westbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway, just east of Zuma View Place, in the City of Malibu.  Upon arrival, it was determined that a pedestrian was struck by the suspect vehicle as she stood next to her vehicle, which was parked along the north shoulder area of Pacific Coast Highway. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.  The suspect vehicle fled westbound on Pacific Coast Highway.  The suspect was located and arrested a short time later near Kanan Road and the 101 Freeway without incident.

The suspect, Pablo Carranza, a 25 year-old male, was booked at Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of $50,000 dollars bail.

The City of Malibu is policed by the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  The traffic collision is being investigated by traffic investigators from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station.  The investigators ask that anyone with information regarding this traffic collision, please contact Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff Station at (818) 878-1808.
