DATE/TIME: March 2, 2015
INCIDENT: Recovery of Stolen Property
LOCATION: Foothill Boulevard and Lion Street, Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY:
On March 2, 2015, while deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Detective Bureau and Multiple Enforcement Team were serving a search warrant in San Bernardino for an unrelated theft case, they located what appeared to be Boy Scout Troop stolen property. Deputy Rudy Delgado recognized the property as possibly the theft from the Boy Scout Troop in Fontana. The Boy Scout Troop 2000 had their trailer stolen on February 20, 2015. The trailer was filled with Boy Scout camping equipment, supplies, and the troop’s flag adorned with years of achievement ribbons that were irreplaceable and coveted by the troop. Their empty trailer was recovered in Fontana with all their scouting equipment missing.
Boy Scout Troop Leader Eric Herchenroeder positively identified the property as the Boy Scout Troops missing property. About sixty percent of the stolen items in the Troop’s trailer were recovered during this search warrant.
