March 6th

Domestic battery – 1400 block of Devonshire Dr.
At 0605 hours, officers responded to a domestic battery in progress at a residence. Officers arrested a 49-year-old El Cerrito woman and her husband, a 51-year-old El Cerrito man for committing battery against the other. Both were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

March 7th

Possession of a controlled substance – S. 53rd St./ Potrero Ave.
At 1306 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 20-year-old transient man for possession of methamphetamine. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released pending lab results.

Entering a residence against notice to vacate – 800 block of Park Way
At 1542 hours, officers were dispatched after neighbors saw a male enter the residence. Officers located a 19-year-old transient man inside the residence. The man was a previous tenant and had come to the residence to gather his belongings. The man was cited for violating the notice to vacate and left the residence. His mother; also a previous tenant came and retrieved her dogs.

Theft from a Vehicle - 1200 block of Contra Costa Dr:
At 1650 hours, officers responded to the report of an elderly woman having her purse stolen from her vehicle. An officer following up on this case determined that the suspect followed the victim from where she was shopping to where she parked her car on Contra Costa Dr, The suspect was an Asian Male, 20’s black pants, black tee-shirt, black horn-rim glasses. He was driving a white older SUV.

Residential Burglary - 751 Richmond St: At 2155 hours, Officer Perales responded to the report of a residential burglary. In between 1030 hours and 2100 hours, an unidentified suspect propped up several unsecured items in the backyard of a residence and tried to make entry via windows but was unsuccessful. They continued to check the residence and found an unsecured rear door. Once inside, they stole jewelry and electronics.

March 8th

Mental health evaluation – 500 block of Oak St.
At 0837 hours, officers were dispatched to the area for a male screaming in the backyard of an apartment complex. Officers contacted a 35-year-old El Cerrito man at his residence and learned that he yelled obscenities at his mother and pushed her during an argument. The man suffers from a mental illness and was making incoherent statements. The man was transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.



Battery, Brandishing a weapon – 1700 block of Ganges St.
At 1527 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence for a physical fight between two brothers; one of which was armed with a knife. When officers arrived on scene, a 43-year-old El Cerrito man locked himself in the house and refused to exit. Officers communicated with the man and convinced him to exit the residence where he was detained without further incident. The man’s brother, a 41-year-old Antioch man provided officers with minimal information and did not want his brother arrested. The 41-year-old Antioch man left the residence and the 43-year-old El Cerrito man remained at the house.

Possession of a controlled substance – 11545 San Pablo Ave
At 1924 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 39 year old, for being possession of a controlled substance. The male was booked and then released with a citation.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Avenue / Carlson Boulevard
At 1908 hours an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 47 year old male, for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and then transported to county jail.
