March 3rd

Warrant Arrest- (El Cerrito Police Department) 10900 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 0837 hours, a 23 year old female from Richmond came to the El Cerrito Police station to retrieve property. An officer discovered she had an outstanding warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle and a probation violation from Solano County. An officer contacted the female in the lobby and took her into custody without incident. The female was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest-Liberty St. at Eureka Ave.
At approximately 1012 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a 29 year old transient male loitering in the area. The officer conducted a warrants check on the male and discovered he had an outstanding warrant out of Contra Costa County for obstructing/resisting an officer. After the male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Attempt Residential Burglary- 800 block of Liberty St.
An officer reports an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry into the victim’s residence by prying on the rear sliding door of the house. The incident occurred between 2/27 at 0600 hours and 2/28 at 0845 hours. No property loss was reported.

Grand Theft- 1500 block of Everett St.
An officer reports an unknown suspect cut a chain the victims' used to secure their bicycles and took the bicycles. The incident occurred between 3/1 at 1700 hours and 3/2 at 0730 hours.

Arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Probation Violation – Central Ave at San Pablo Ave. –
At approximately 1727 hours, ECPD officers responded to the area for a fight between a male and female. Officers located both parties and determined it was a verbal argument only. An El Cerrito police officer located a small baggie of methamphetamine (.12 grams) in the male’s pants pocket. The 37 year old male from El Cerrito was also on probation for burglary. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 5500 block of Central Ave
Between 0800 to 1815 hours an unknown suspect shattered the kitchen window, made entry into the house and stole jewelry.

Stolen Vehicle Report – (CVS) 670 El Cerrito Plaza
Between 1515 to 2010 hours today, an unknown suspect took the keys to a white 2014 Ford Escape, which was in the jacket pocket of an employee's coat in the office. The suspect then stole the Ford which was parked in the CVS parking lot.

Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave.
During a traffic stop at 2133 hours, an El Cerrito police officer arrested the driver, a 26 year old female from Richmond, on a $15K warrant out of Gray County Sheriff’s Office in Texas. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility pending extradition to Texas.

March 4th

Auto Burglary-600 block of Albemarle St.
An officer reports an unknown suspect pried the locks of the victim’s vehicle to gain entry and stole power tools. The incident occurred between 3/3 at 1800 hours and 3/4 at 0755 hours.

Possession of a Controlled Substance/Warrant Arrest- 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens)
At approximately 1052 hours, an officer responded to the business for a complaint of a male loitering in front of the business. The officer located the 42 year old Oakland resident in the area. During a warrants check, the officer discovered the male had an outstanding warrant. The male was taken into custody. During a search incident to arrest, the officer located a baggie of suspected methamphetamine in the male’s possession. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substance and Glass Pipe/ Under the Influence- Eureka Ave/Pomona Ave.
At approximately 1125 hours, a School Resource Officer noticed a suspicious male near the El Cerrito High School. The officer spoke with the 38 year old male from Fremont. The officer located a baggie of suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe in the male’s possession. The officer also determined the male was under the influence of a controlled substance. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest- Central Ave/ Yosemite Ave.
At approximately 1337 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 46 year old male Berkeley resident, who was found to have an outstanding warrant. The male was booked for the warrant and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 800 block of Balra Dr.
Between 1700 to 2050 hours, an unknown suspect entered a residence through an open rear bathroom window. The suspect ransacked the bedrooms and stole over $1200 worth of jewelry and a $1200 laptop.

Warrant Arrest, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave at Madison Ave
At approximately 0114 hours, an El Cerrito police officer contacted two subjects in the area. During the contact a 44 year old male from Richmond was arrested for having two warrants for drug possession out of Contra Costa County. The male was also in possession of suspected methamphetamines and a small glass meth pipe. The 24 year old female, who was also from Richmond and was with the male, was arrested for possession of mehtamphetamine and two meth pipes. The male and female were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on citations.

March 5th

Warrant Arrest- 900 block of King Dr.
At approximately 1249 hours, officers responded to a suspicious vehicle detail called in by a citizen. The citizen reported seeing a suspicious person walking back and forth from the vehicle. Officers located a 28 year old female from San Anselmo in the area. Officers conducted a warrants check and discovered the female had an outstanding warrant out of Marin County. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police department. After booking she was issued a citation and released.

Arrest for Stolen Vehicle – Eastshore Blvd at Potrero Ave
At approximately 0347 hours an El Cerrito police officer located a white 2002 Pontiac minivan parked along the east curb of Eastshore Blvd. A 32 year old female from Oakland was located sleeping in the back seat. The female had the keys to the Pontiac on her person. The female was on probation for petty theft and drug possession out of Alameda County. The female was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
