Crime Alert and Community Update Bulletin
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Notable Cases
On Wednesday, 02-18-15 at 7:20 p.m., Officer Rodney Chittenden and Officer Nick Ottoboni conducted a pedestrian stop on a subject in the area of Mission Street and Rice Street. The subject said he had been standing around because he was kicked out of the place he was living. Officer Ottoboni recognized the subject from a previous incident where the subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Officer Ottoboni asked the subject if he had any drugs, and the subject said, “I’m not sure” and reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. Officers then asked the subject if he had anything else illegal on him, and the subject said he had a stun gun in his backpack. Officers cited the 35-year old Daly City resident for possession of controlled substance and confiscated the stun gun.
On Friday, 02-20-15 at 5:30 a.m., Officer Benjamin Wagnon stopped a subject at Vendome Avenue and Mission Circle for crossing against a red light. One of the conditions of her probation is that she is subject to a search and seizure clause. Officer Woelkers noted the subject was very nervous when he asked her to step out of her vehicle. Officer Korey Sprader assisted in searching the subject’s purse and vehicle and found a loaded firearm in a sock inside her purse. The subject was arrested for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a stolen firearm while sitting in a vehicle, and for a probation violation.
