February 17th

Warrant Arrest- Brighton Ave. @ Cornell St:
At 1107 hours, an officer arrested a 24 year-old El Cerrito man on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Burglary- 400 Block of Everett St:
On 02/17 between 1245 and 1315 hours, a male suspect cut the window screen from a wide window a residence and then used a ladder to climb inside. Once inside the suspect stole numerous electronic items, jewelry and an electric guitar. During a check of the area, investigating officers located video footage from a neighboring residence which depicted the suspect. A press release was prepared, disseminated via Nixle and the subject turned himself into the ECPD at 2200 hours that evening. Officers arrested a 18 year-old Richmond man for the burglary and also recovered the stolen property. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Burglary- 5200 Block of Cypress Ave:
At 1141 hours, officers responded to a burglar alarm activation at a residence. Upon arrival on scene officers discovered an unknown suspect broke out a window, entered the residence and stole two laptop computers. Unfortunately, the suspect fled prior to the officer’s arrival.

Burglary- 1000 Block of Villa Nueva:
Between 02/16 at 1200 hours and 02/17 at 0800 hours, an unknown suspect forced entry into a Mazda Protégé and stole a duffle bag.

Burglary- 6510 Stockton Ave., El Cerrito Public Library:
On 02/17 between 1500 and 1600 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the window of a Mitsubishi and stole a backpack.

February 18th

Burglary- 8300 Block of Buckingham Dr:
Between 02/15 and 02/17, an unknown suspect forced entry into a Honda Civic and attempted to steal the vehicle.

Vehicle Theft- 5300 Block of School St:
An unidentified suspect stole a Toyota Camry between 02/17 at 1830 hours and 02/18 at 0630 hours.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- 5300 Block of School St:
While investigation the above listed theft an officer located a 1995 Acura Integra which was reported stolen to the San Pablo Police Department on 02/17.

Vehicle Theft- 600 Block of Liberty St:
An unknown suspect stole a black 2000 Chevrolet Caprice between 02/17 at 1900 hours and 02/18 at 0800 hours.

February 19th

Driving Under the Influence- 2000 Block of Carquinez Ave:
At 0035 hours, an officer arrested a 54 year-old Oregon man for driving under the influence. The man was booked at the ECPD and then released to a sober person.

Shoplifting/Burglary- 1000 El Cerrito Plaza, Lucky
At 1458 hours, an officer responded to Lucky to assist store security with a 40 year-old female from Berkeley they had detained for stealing several bottles of alcohol. The female was cited in the field and released.
