Police Blotter Feb 13 - Feb 15

February 13th

Warrant arrest – Central Ave. / San Joaquin Ave.
At 1040 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the passenger, a 21-year-old Richmond female for an outstanding warrant. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant arrest – BART Path / Hill St.
At 1107 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 52-year-old Pleasant Hill man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Robbery – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1444 hours, officers arrested a 27-year-old Richmond man after he entered Safeway and concealed merchandise. A store employee then told man to leave and began walking him to the front of the store. The man threw a bag of oranges at the employee and when she bent to pick it up, he slapped the employee in the face. He was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – Verizon, 410 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1716 hours, an unknown suspect entered Verizon, stole an iPad, and fled on foot. The suspect is described as a Black male adult in his 20’s, wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt, with short dreadlocks.

Sexual Battery - BART Path / Moeser Lane
At 1921 hours, an officer responded to the report of a sexual battery. A black male subject wearing a white hooded sweatshirt inappropriately touched a woman walking on the BART path. The suspect fled on foot.

Shoplifting – Walgreens: 11565 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2025 hours, officers responded to the report of a woman selecting and consuming alcoholic beverages and potato chips at Walgreens. The woman, a 41 year old from Oakley was placed under citizen’s arrest. She was booked and released on a citation.

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage: San Pablo Avenue / Stockton Avenue:
At 2239 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 23 year old El Cerrito man for driving while under the influenced of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage: San Pablo Avenue / Madison Avenue:
At 2338 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 42 year old Richmond man for driving while under the influenced of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

February 14th

Under the influence of a controlled substance – 10602 San Pablo Ave.
At 1259 hours, an officer arrested a 34-year-old Burlingame woman after she was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine. The woman was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Recovered stolen vehicle – Everett St. / Central Ave.
At 1605 hours, an officer located a 1997 Infiniti that had been reported stolen to SFPD on the 12th.

Vehicle theft – Richmond St/ Central Ave.
While ECPD officers were busy with the above recovery, a resident reported that his 1996 gold Nissan Maxima was stolen sometime between 1300 hours and 1600 hours.

Possession of a Controlled Substance: Key Blvd / Cutting Blvd:
At 0144 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, a passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of heroin. The passenger, a 35 year old Richmond woman, was booked and released on a citation.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 800 block of Park Way:
At 0506 hours, an officer located an unoccupied stolen Ford Fusion. The vehicle was stolen in Santa Rosa.

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage: Potrero Avenue / S. 55th Street:
At 2231 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 58 year old Richmond man for driving while under the influenced of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

February 15th

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage: San Pablo Avenue / MacDonald Avenue:
At 0024 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 49 year old Richmond man for driving while under the influenced of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

Driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage: Central Avenue / Yosemite Avenue:
At 0203 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 35 year old Berkeley man for driving while under the influenced of an alcoholic beverage. He was booked and released on a citation.

Shoplifting - Safeway - 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1925 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter. Officers detained the suspect, a 48 year old Richmond woman who had her clothing stuffed with meat and hygiene products. The store employees recognized her due to her history of stealing from the store, despite her wearing a wig and glasses. She was found trying to access her bicycle which was stashed in the bushes across the street from the store. She was booked and released on a citation.

Battery / Battery on a Police Officer – 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2132 hours, officers responded to the report of a woman causing a disturbance at Safeway. The woman was escorted out of the store by the manager after she was yelling expletives at shoppers. She then punched the manager in the face. The suspect, a 24 year old Richmond woman was placed under citizen’s arrest. She then spat in the face of an officer. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility.

February 16th

Traffic Pursuit – Knott Avenue / Key Blvd.
At 1708 hours, an officer attempted a traffic stop on a white Ford. The vehicle fled from the traffic stop and drove the wrong way on San Pablo Avenue. Due to concern for the motoring public, the officer terminated the pursuit.
