INCIDENT: PC 664/187 Attempt Murder

LOCATION: Agate Road, Lenwood

SUSPECT(S): Leroy Nelson, age 45, a resident of Lenwood

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On Wednesday, February 11, 2015, deputies from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a fight in the area of Agate Road, in the community of Lenwood. Deputies Rivas and Hancock arrived on scene and learned that Leroy Nelson had assaulted a family member with an unknown type object. Leroy Nelson and the victim where no longer at the scene. During the investigation the male victim was located with head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment.

During the investigation it was learned that the suspect, Leroy Nelson and the victim had gotten into an argument over living arrangements. Nelson chased the victim into a residence where he beat the victim, causing serious head injuries.
Deputy Rivas obtained an arrest warrant for Nelson. The suspect, Leroy Nelson was later located and arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Crime Impact Team. Nelson was transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for PC664/187 Attempt Murder and is beinbg held on $100,000.00 bail.
