FRI 2/6/15, at 1:40 PM, a ROBBERY occurred on the 24100 block of Mission Bl, in a public park. Three Black male adults walked up to the victim, who was sitting in his car in the park. The suspects ordered the victim to give them his property, as one of the suspects held a knife up to the victim’s neck. The suspects pulled the victim out of his car and the suspect with the knife stabbed the victim near the chin as they fought over the victim’s property. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and then ran away. The suspect with the knife only got as far as a nearby fast food restaurant before he became ill and went inside seeking medical aid. An ambulance was summoned and police dispatchers noted this suspect may have been involved in the robbery, based on the victim’s descriptions of the suspects and he was still in the area, contemporaneous to the crime. The suspect was arrested. The victim suffered minor injury.

FRI 2/6/15, at 3:00 PM, a STOLEN CAR was recovered near Bishop/Eldridge. The victim who recently had his car stolen, reported seeing it in the area of Schafer Park. Officers attempted to detain the suspect, who sped off and then quickly crashed into some bushes. The suspect ran away, but was caught and taken into custody.

SAT 2/7/15, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Hayward PD officers in conjunction with a local Starbucks, invited the public to join them for a cup of coffee, some conversation, and an opportunity to build more community partnerships. The event was well attended and greatly enjoyed by all!

SAT 2/7/15, from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM, the Bistro Restaurant held its annual Beer Festival. About 1500 people attended it over the course of the day and greatly enjoyed the festivities! Officers from the Community Policing and Traffic Units were on hand to ensure everyone enjoyed the day safely.

SAT 2/7/15, at 8:00 PM, a ROBBERY occurred on the 32000 block of Mission Bl. The victim was waiting for a ride in a parking lot, when he was approached by the three suspects. The suspects demanded the victim’s property, as one of them pointed a knife at the victim. One of the suspects threw the victim down on the ground, as another one took the victim’s property out of his pockets. Then all three suspects ran away. They were described only as Black male adults, about 20-40 years old, wearing dark clothing.

MON 2/9/15, at 11:50 AM, an ARMED ROBBERY occurred near Harder/Bishop. The victim was walking his dog when the two suspects walked up and asked him for a dollar. The victim said he didn’t have any money, so one of the suspects pulled out a gun and ordered the victim to take off his jacket. The suspect checked the victim’s jacket pockets and after finding out the victim indeed did not have anything in them, the suspect struck the victim on the head with the gun. The victim fell to the ground. The suspects punched and kicked him, then ran off with his jacket. The suspects were described as Black male adults, about 30 years old, 6’-6’2”, medium builds, and short black hair. One of them was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. The other suspect was wearing a Raiders jersey and black pants. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Wed 2/11/15, at 6:45 AM, a ROBBERY occurred on the 20800 block of Hesperian. A female reporter and a male cameraman were filming a news piece about the Powerball Jackpot at a donut shop. As the cameraman was packing up his gear, the two suspects came up from behind him and shoved him. They forcibly took his camera and ran off. The victims were able to track the cameras location and determined it was somewhere in San Francisco.

Wed 2/11/15, at 6:55 AM, an ARMED ROBBERY occurred on the 1100 block of W. Tennyson. The Hispanic male adult suspect entered a gas station, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. After getting it, he ran off westbound on W. Tennyson. The suspect was described as about 18-20 years old, with a medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt partially pulled over his face and dark pants.
