Lomita Deputies arrest robbery suspects

On Thursday, February 5th, at approximately 8:45 am, Lomita Sheriff’s Station received a call of a robbery at “Morgan’s Jewelers” in the city of Rolling Hills Estates.  It was soon discovered the business was closed at the time and a commercial burglary had in fact just occurred.  The suspects had cut a hole in the roof to gain access into the location and had fled the scene shortly before deputies arrived.

Responding deputies coordinated an extensive search of the area.  Jeremy Tillet, 26, from Perris California was detained within a contained area and was subsequently arrested for being involved in the burglary.  Working on additional information from witnesses, the suspects’ getaway vehicle was spotted by deputies and a coordinated high-risk traffic stop was effected.  Evidence linking the suspects to the burglary was recovered from within the vehicle.  Derrick Seymour, 28, from Inglewood California; and Paul Kenny, 20, from Compton California, were arrested for commercial burglary and robbery.  The suspects were booked at Lomita Sheriff’s Station and are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.  Suspects’ next court appearance is Monday, February 9th, 2015 at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Torrance Branch. The investigation is continuing.

For further information, contact Lieutenant Richard Hernandez at (310) 891-3203 or Detective Richard McKaig at (310) 891-3217.
