Two Males Attacked By Dog In Chula Vista

On 2-8-2015, at about 2 pm, the Chula Vista Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to the 2400 block of La Costa Avenue regarding two adult males being attacked by a vicious dog. The dog and its owners were in their yard when, for an unknown reason, the dog began viciously attacking and biting one of the adult family members. As the dog attacked the adult male, the father of the family attempted to pull the dog away and keep it from biting the victim any further. The dog then turned on the second adult male victim and started biting and attacking him as well. Both males repeatedly attempted to pull the dog away from the other victim and the dog repeatedly bit both of the victims. The fire department attempted to restrain the dog with emergency equipment as the police arrived. The dog was badly injured during the attacks and seemed to be suffering. To end any unnecessary suffering to the dog and to extinguish any further threats, the dog was destroyed at the scene. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with numerous injuries from multiple dog bites.
